A bolt of lightning piercing the chest of a kokeshi becomes a symbol of unease, resistance, and quiet defiance. Rather than expressing anger through confrontation, the work embraces restraint, conveying a more measured form of protest. Its simple composition of black and gold leaves space for interpretation, encouraging viewers to consider the questions it raises. Within its small form resides a clear sense of conviction and dissent.
